Sahara (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318649/)
So, my mum and I went and saw Sahara today. Her idea, but wtf, I went along.
Overall, not too bad. Typical of Clive Cussler books (of which I do infact read) there were some parts that were a little hard to believe. i.e. a solar power station in the middle of the gasp! Sahara desert. Toxic waste seeping into an underground river. Blah blah blah.
The role played by Steve Zahn (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001872/) didn't match how Cussler wrote him in the books. In the books, Al Giordino is very Italian, a ladies man, very sauve. Not so in the movie.
Matthew McConaughey (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000190/) played a decent Dirk Pitt. I would have expected someone a bit more grizzled, perhaps. However, he says in the movie that every good thing has happened to him on the water. One problem with that.......his ex-wife DIED underwater. Well, at least in the books.
Penélope Cruz (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004851/). Well, she's hawt, so she can do no wrong. :D
It was an alright movie. Coupla things ruined it, such as stupid people bringing they're stupid kids into the damn theatre. Running around, crying, all that crap.
And some fat blonde chick kept talking to her wannabe goth boyfriend right behind us. There was a few times I was tempted to turn around and smack 'em both.
And the movie studios wonder why people don't like going to theatres and paying like $8 for a movie that's gonna get ruined by stupid fawks sitting around them. :shakinghe
