We were talking about music and such......she considers U2 to be mainstream.

I don't see them as mainstream at all. Anyone else?

I voted mainstream for 2 reasons. There are a few U2 songs that have been turned into remixs (Beautiful Day - Quincey & Sonance remix, Elevation - Influx remix). Second would be the bands reputation over the last decade. Rock music tends to have a better connection to dance music. Just like Rap is more conected to R&B and Oldie tunes.
