Britney 'about to lose her kids'

US authorities are set to temporarily transfer custody of Britney Spears' children to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, according to media reports.

Fox News is reporting that Spears' two boys will be turned over to Federline, after the Los Angeles Family Court received information about Spears over the weekend.

If the report is accurate, it compounds a horror week for Spears, following her widely panned performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last week.

At a court hearing yesterday, the singer's former bodyguard offered to testify about drug use, nudity and child safety concerns in her home.

Spears' attorney chose not to cross-examine the bodyguard, Tony Barretto, who was prepared to give testimony under oath.

Barretto, who was allegedly fired when he failed to hear Spears requesting him to pick up her hat, filed an unchallenged declaration with the court.

On a drama-filled day, Spears was also dumped by her management team of one month, The Firm, and her lawyer, Laura Wasser. Britney's downward spiral picked up pace over the weekend and gossip websites have been spreading bizarre rumours about the singer's behaviour.

One media report suggested the FBI was investigating whether a contract for a hit on Kevin Federline, but the authenticity of this information has been called into question.

Another report in The Sun, also published on ninemsn, said Britney had been banned from LA's elite Chateau Marmont hotel after a series of complaints over her strange behaviour.

But TMZ is reporting that it was actually a fat, male Britney impersonator who was refused entry to the hotel.

The website posts video of a big-bellied man in a blonde wig yelling "It's Britney, bitch" while rubbing food against his crotch.
